Method characterised in that the work piece w is locked in rotation on a support axis of the surface to be decorated, a scraper 292 is positioned on one side of a decorating screen 280 to establish a linear contact between the opposite side of this screen and the surface to be decorated, the decorating screen 280 is made to roll along a tangential path around the surface to be decorated and, simultaneously with this, the scraper 292 is displaced along an orbital path around the support axis in order to force a printing fluid through the screen 280 onto the surface to be decorated at the line of contact and in that the pivoting axis is at right angles to the support axis. c.
