Process for the preparation of polyalkynes

Process for the preparation of polyalkynes, in particular polyacetylenes, having improved stability to oxygen by polymerising alkynes by means of transition-metal catalysts, extracting the resultant polyalkynes in order to remove the catalyst, and drying the extracted polyalkynes, where the extraction is carried out in the presence of free-radical scavengers. The polyalkynes obtained can be doped with electron acceptors or electron donors to give stable, highly electroconductive systems.
