PURPOSE:To reduce the memory capacity of a cash register and the entire system, by storing an I/O processing program to I/O side and providing a reloadable program memory to the cash register. CONSTITUTION:The electronic cash register ECR system consists of plural sets of ECRs 1 and a portable data collector 2. The ECR1 is provided with a central processing unit CPU11, a memory 13 connected to the CPU11 via a common bus 12, an I/O control circuit 14 and I/O devices such as keyboard 15, display 16 and printer 17. The memory 13 has a program area and a data area and also reloadable I/O processing program storage area. A memory 23 of the data collector 2 has an ECR program storage area. The required program is loaded from the data collector 2 to the ECR1 only at the execution of each mode. |
