PURPOSE:To obtain a positive type photosensitive composition having high sensitivity and capable of being spectrally sensitized by incorporating a specified compound, hexarylbiimidazole and an alkali-soluble org. polymer. CONSTITUTION:One or more kinds of compounds (A) selected from ethanol- amine derivs., benzaldehyde derivs., adducts of acid chlorides such as acetyl chloride to pyridine, and dibasic carboxylic acid anhydrides such as phthalic anhydride are mixed with hexarylbiimidazole (B) represented by the formula (where each of R<1>-R<3> is aryl, and each ring is aromatic nonlocalized electrons satisfying the valences of the constituent atoms of each imidazolyl ring) and an alkali-soluble org. polymer (C) such as a methacrylic acid-styrene copolymer in (0.1-0.6):(0.1-0.6):1 weight ratio. The mixture is dissolved in a solvent such as methyl ethyl ketone and applied to a support. |
