PURPOSE:To make it possible to accurately perform the strength test of a pillar member, by a method wherein a vertical cylinder is guided in substantially parallel relation to a repulsive force frame receiving the repulsive force of said cylinder in a movable manner and connected to the upper end of a body to be tested in a relatively rotatable and movable manner. CONSTITUTION:A vertical cylinder 3 is fixed to an under side support plate 8 and an upper side support plate 7 is fixed to a repulsive force frame 5. In addition, the support roller 10 and the guide roller 11 pivotably supported by the under side support plate 8 are engaged with the upper surface and the side surface of the upper side support plate 7. By this structure, the vertical cylinder 3 is substantially horizontally supported in a movable manner to be guided and further connected to the upper end of a body 1 to be tested in a relatively rotatable and movable manner by a load transmission rotary joint 12. By this mechanism, vertical compression load can be loaded to the upper end of the body to be tested and the strength test of a pillar member to load in an earthquake can be accurately performed. |
