The device essentially comprises an envelope (1) in which a light conductor (2) is incorporated, one of whose ends is linked to a light signal emitting source (3) and whose other end is linked to a detector (4) arranged to pick up the light signals sent out by the source (3) and transmitted through the light conductor (2). Any damage to the envelope in order to gain access to the object or to the site leads to the light conductor becoming broken and causes interruption of the signal transmission. <IMAGE>
