A device for warning of drivers driving in the wrong direction can be switched in such a way that a vehicle which goes into a (motorway) exit in the wrong direction is perceived by two corresponding reflex photoelectric beams or similar sensors, whereas vehicles driving correctly are ignored. The device can be implemented with discrete elements or with corresponding equivalent circuits and is to be battery-operated for reasons of economy. In each case an unmistakable audible and a visual warning signal must be agreed for this.
