<p>A method of manufacturing solar cells in a semiconductor wafer uses a first doped glassy layer which is spaced apart from the edges of the wafer, in combination with a second undoped glassy layer, so that, when the dopants are diffused from the first layer into the wafer, only that portion of the wafer beneath the first layer is doped. This simple and economical method results in solar cells having improved leakage characteristics.</p> |
