<p>PURPOSE:To reprocess efficiently an error block without any unnecessary reciprocal run of a tape and to prevent a shift in block position, by switching control over the processing of blocks between erronrous completion and normal completion. CONSTITUTION:Write data transferred from a host device 51 is fetched in a write data control circuit 53 through an interface 52 and a corresponding write signal is sent through a writing amplifier 50 to a writing head 54 and written on a tape. The output of a reading head 56 is sent through a reading amplifier 57 to an error correcting circuit 58 to make error corrections, and then transferred from a read data control circuit 59 to the host device 51 through the interface 52. A servocontrol circuit 60 controls the driving of reel motors 63 and 64 for a machine and a file reel through machine-reel and file-reel driving circuits 61 and 62. Consequently, the repetition of unnecessary reprocessing regarding a block which causes an error owing to a tape defect, etc., is evaded.</p> |
