The conveyor device (6) has at least two pressing rolls (341 to 345) arranged adjacent to one another in the longitudinal direction of the drive roll. The pressing rolls (341 to 345) are adjustable as regards their alignment with respect to the drive roll (22). The conveyor device is distinguished by high simplicity and reliability of operation, adjustment of the pressing rolls being particularly simple. Uniform, wrinkle-free and distortion-free transport of the web is ensured even in the case of thin material. The severing device (10) has a first and a second conveyor device (6, 12) which are individually controllable. Between the conveyor devices, the web (2) is guided along a guide (72) in a loose loop. In the region of the loop is disposed a fixed severing element (78). By tensioning the web (2) by means of the conveyor devices (6, 12), the web (2) comes into engagement with the severing element (78) and is severed. The fixed severing element provides an extremely simple and reliably operating construction of the severing device. <IMAGE>
