<p>The reactor is cylindrical and has a lower truncated cone-shaped section, in which is a water heat exchanger coil for taking up the heat of formation of the slaked lime in the fluid bed. This raises steam, which is introduced into the bottom of the reactor and is used as the bed suspension medium. Also passed into the reactor is air together with the lime feed for conveying the slaked lime together with excess steam into the collector station connected to the top of the reactor. The process yields a fine high quality powdery product. It is continuous and thermally highly efficient.</p> |
