PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of an FF car having a laterally arranged engine, to secure the height of the car from the ground easily and to shorten the length of the car in the axial direction by a method wherein a forward one-stage and backward four-stage gear train is provided on a set of shafts arranged in series with the output shaft of a torque converter. CONSTITUTION:A first planetary gear set 30 and a second planetary gear set 40 are arranged at the back of a shaft serving as the output shaft of the torque converter and the input shaft 1 of the transmission at the same time so that a forward one stage and backward four stage speed change gear device is constituted. Further, an overdrive device is constituted of a third planetary gear set 60 whereby a power of forward one-stage and backward four-stage is taken out from an output gear 61 by controlling clutches C1 and C2, brakes B1 and B2, a clutch C0 and a brake B0. |
