PURPOSE:To accurately machine a super accurate surface with a single diamond tool, by changing a depth of cut with the tool under rotation correspondingly to a relative positional relation between the tool and a work. CONSTITUTION:A depth of cut with a diamond tool 1 is periodically changed in accordance with a function of a function generator circuit 9 with one rotation of the tool as the period. A cutting edge part of the tool 1 can be moved within a horizontal plane for a guide surface 3 by suitably setting said function even if the center of rotation of a rotary device 5 is tilted with respect to the guide surface 3. As a result, a machined surface can be worked to a correct plane. |
