<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the functions of electrostatic dust precipitation and dust filtration with a simplified structure, by using a porous dielectric body as a partition plate between electrodes for the electrostatic dust precipitation, and impressing high voltage between the electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A filter element 2 prepd. by rolling a plurality of sheet filters composed each of a porous dielectric body, e.g. urethane foam, having one surface on which a thin metal film such as Al has been formed into a cylindrical shape is provided at the center of a case 1. When high voltage is impressed between adjacent electrodes by a DC high-voltage power source 8, fine particles such as dust floating in an air stream A sucked in through a suction hole 4 are not only physically captured in the small pores of the filter element but also electrostatically captured since they are charged with electricity by friction with the filter element as the dielectric body.</p> |
