Hog knives (3), with which lateral segments of a log are processed to form hogged wood, are attached to the periphery of a knife head element (2). The knife head element (2) carries, on its end face, two circular saw segments (5) each extending on an arc from one hog knife (3) to the other. Each circular saw segment (5) has a thickened fastening flange (7), the radially outer periphery (7a) of which and the inner rim (7b) of which run eccentrically with respect to the knife head axis (10). The height of the saw teeth (6) above the radially outer periphery (7a) of the thickened fastening flange (7) increases from the beginning to the end of each circular saw segment (5). <IMAGE> |
