PURPOSE:To prevent misfire by a method wherein the glow plug, conducted upon the ON operation of an ignition switch, is also conducted to control it when the revolving speed of the diesel engine is low and the amount of fuel injection has exceeded a set value. CONSTITUTION:Upon operating the engine, the water temperature of the engine is detected by a water temperature sensor 7 and the control of a conducting amount for maintaining the temperature of the glow plug 46 within a set temperature range is effected in a predetermined period of time before and after cranking by putting a starter switch 42 ON. In the first conducting time after the operation of the ignition switch 40 and the second conducting time after the operation of the starter switch 42, the conducting amount for the glow plug 46 is controlled variably in accordance with the temperature of the glow plug. The conduction of the glow plug 46 is controlled so as to maintain said set temperature range when the revolving speed of the engine is low and the injecting amount of fuel has exceeded the set value therefor after the second conducting time has elapsed. |
