The device for assembly and disassembly of the side sealing chains (8, 9) on double mould lines (3) having an upper and a lower sheet belt for foam filling of sandwich building elements has a device (14) for inserting and removing the chains (8, 9) combined with a chain magazine (15). On one side of the double mould line (3) a chain magazine (15) is disposed parallel thereto to receive and deliver side sealing chains (8, 9) of different dimensions. A pivotable arm (16) connects the double mould line (3) and magazine (15) and is provided with deflecting guides and a support surface (19) for the two side sealing chains (8, 9) of the double mould line (3), which support surface is disposed at the level of the chain support tables on the double mould line. The insertion and removal of the side sealing chains (8, 9) is carried out by two motor-driven cable winders (20, 21; 22, 23) respectively, which operate alternately as traction and braking winders, in each case one cable winder (20, 22) being disposed below the chain running level in the double mould line (3) and one cable winder (21, 23) being disposed on the front side (24) of the chain magazine (15). <IMAGE>
