发明名称 FOUR-CYLINDER INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To minimize the fluctuation of torque, by stopping operation of intake and exhaust valvs of two cylinders the pistons of which are operated at the same phase with each other, and opening auxiliary intake valves for a prescribed while at the position near the buttom dead center at the time of partial-cylinder operation of a four-cylinder internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:Two cylinders #1, #4 of a four-cylinder internal combustion engine the pistons of which are operated at the same phase with each other are respectively provided with an auxiliary intake valve 26. When a control circuit 17 detects low-load condition, ignition is stopped and operation of intake and exhaust strokes is stopped by opening switches 19A, 20A provided respectively at an intermediate portion of ignition cords 19, 20 for cylinders #1, #2, and at the same time, auxiliary intake valves 26 are opened for a prescribed while at the position near the bottom dead point of the suction stroke by means of an actuator 10. Therefore, if compression gas is blown off to the crank case during the rising stroke of pistons of cylinders which are not in operation, a proper compression pressure is always obtained by supplying fresh air at the next cycle, so that it is enabled to minimize the fluctuation of the torque and engine speed.</p>
