PURPOSE:To increase the rigidity and accuracy of a table, the sensibility of a fulerum and the accuracy of horizontal balance by using a bearing of static pressure gas at the fulerum and a sliding part of the table, and furthermore providing a noncontacting displacement sensor and a mechanical stopper. CONSTITUTION:A sample A is fixed on a sample base 13 of the table 10 functioning as the bearing of static pressure gas, then a balance weight 19 is rotated to control the horizontal balance and the horizontality is conformed by the noncontacting displacement sensor 26. After controlling the balance of an arm 17, a control knob 24 is rotated to bring a stylus close to the sample, next an optional weight 16 is laid on a weight pan 15 and the stylus 14 is brought into contact with the sample, then the stopper 18 is unfastened to make the arm free. The table 10 is moved under the state when a load is exerted on the stylus 14 to scratch the sample face by the stylus 14. In this time, the resistance which is received by the stylus 14 is detected as the strain amount by a strain gauge 25, and the characteristics and workability of the material are measured. |
