<p>The machine is used to reproduce bas-reliefs (6) and engravings etc. in hard stone e.g. granite. It comprises a slide (1) which is displaced parallel to an offset worktable (2) and a vertically movable detecting and reproduction group (3) is mounted on the slide. This group comprises a feeler (4) and a copier (5) which are mounted on an arm. The piece (6) being copied and the reproduced workpiece (7) are each mounted on a turntable (8,9). - A control unit is provided for effecting the controlled translation of the slide (1), the vertical movement of the reproduction group (3), the actuation of the copier (5) and the rotation of the turntables (8,9). The mountings of the piece being copied and the workpiece may permit the depth of the work to be adjusted and the relative positions of the sensor (5) and the copier (4) may also be adjustable.
