PURPOSE:To finish a material to be welded invariably in an adequate welding state, by detecting a penetration electron beam and controlling an amount of electron beam generated by a gun. CONSTITUTION:An electron beam emitted from the gun 1 fuses the butt part of the body 2 to be welded in a short time and part of it penetrate the body 2. An alternating current supplying circuit 4 supplies an alternating current to a deflecting coil 3 to deflect the penetration electron beam. The penetration electron beam passes through an aluminum film 5 to reach a fluoroescent material 6, emitting light with some wavelength. The light is detected by a photodetecting element 8 and converted into an electric signal, which is processed by a signal processing circuit 9 to control the electron beam amount of the gun 1 adequately. |
