PURPOSE:To sharply reduce the reproduction time of a picture and make continuous photographigng possible by providing a conversion material layer that emits light when it is excited by an x ray and an electron beam at the input screen section in a vacuum container and an optical detector at a position where the layer can be looked through. CONSTITUTION:An image produced by an x ray is recorded and stored temporarily on a conversion material layer 22. On the other hand, an electron beam emitted from an electron gun 24 and focused spot-scans the whole surface of the layer 22 by means of a deflection coil 25. The section of the layer 22 scanned by the electron emits light when it is re-excited by the electron beam and is returned to normal state, in accordance with the quantity of the x ray by which it is previously irradiated, is sequentially received by an optical detector 26 in response to the scanning of the electron beam, is taken out as electric signals, and is processed by a computer. As a result, a picture is reproduced. |
