PURPOSE:To ensure the recording with even track width, by avoiding the unstable reproduction of a pilot signal due to a transient, etc. caused by an instantaneous switch between the recording and reproducing systems and to ensuring the stable control for the height of a head. CONSTITUTION:A recording system circuit 1 produces an FM luminance signal Y and a low frequency converted chroma signal C, and a synthetic video signal V (Y+C) is applied to a rotary magnetic head H through an adder 2, a recording amplifier 3 and a rotary transformer 4. In a reproduction mode, the reproduction output of the head H is applied to a head amplifier 6 of a reproducing system circuit 5 through the transformer 4, and the output of the amplifier 6 is reproduced and demodulated. In a reproducing mode a switch 7 is closed with the timing of a gate pulse G1, and the pilot signal of the output of an oscillator of the 5th frequency is superposed on a recording signal through the adder 2. |
