Method and apparatus for detecting the fertile and infertile phases of the human female menstrual cycle based upon observation of cyclic volumetric and gravimetric changes in cervico-vaginal fluid. An apparatus (8) for collection of total cervico-vaginal fluid from the vaginal covity is disclosed; said apparatus being adaptable for self-use by a female subject.
