PURPOSE:To prevent a vehicle from inadvertently rushing out, by providing such an arrangement that an accelerator pedal is depressed in a condition in which the pressure of air fed into an actuator is lower than an operating pressure, and the vehicle is inhibited from starting in this condition even if the pressure of air increases up to the operating operation. CONSTITUTION:When an automatic transmission 15 starts a vehicle, a microcomputer 21 reads at first the shift position of the transmission, and then reads the pressure in the air tank 33 by means of a pressure sensor 37 when the shift position is other than the neutral position. When the pressure in the air tank 33 is less than an operating pressure, a compressor 31 is driven by an engine 10 to accumulate air in the tank 33. Then, the microcomputer 21 detects the degree of depression of the accelerator pedal 24 by means of an accelerator sensor 25. When an accelerator pedal 24 is depressed again after it is once returned, solenoid valves 34 through 36 are opened to feed air into actuators 17 through 19 to carry out shift operation and engagement of the clutch. |
