PURPOSE:To obtain a negative-pressure utilizing head slider which is assembled easily, by forming medium opposing surfaces on both sides of a groove into cylindrical convex surfaces having axes at right angles to the running direction of a magnetic medium, and then deforming them into cylindrical convex surface having axes at right angles to the medium running direction. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head 8 is formed on the slider 7 firstly. The slider 7 has the groove 10 formed in the center of a magnetic medium opposing surface 9. Then, the magnetic medium opposing surfaces 11 on both sides of the groove are polished into the cylindrical surfaces. Then, a leaf spring 13 is pressed in the groove 12 formed previously in the back surface. This leaf spring 13 is preferably part of a gimbal spring for coupling the slider with a magnetic head arm. |
