TREATMENT OF ORGANIC WASTE

PURPOSE:To obtain a resource saving effect, by utilizing the digesting gas obtained by subjecting the org. waste which is heat-treated in a pressure vessel to anaerobic fermentation and the steam obtained in a drying stage for the residue of digestion as an energy source. CONSTITUTION:Org. waste is heat-treated at >=100 deg.C in a pressure vessel and is then cooled and is subjected to methane fermentation. The gas of fermentation is burned and is converted to mechanical or electrical energy which is utilized in an energy consuming stage. The residue after the above-described fermentation is dried in a hermetic drying stage of an indirect heating type. The steam generated in this stage is compressed with a steam compressor and is then used as a heating source for said drying stage.
