A multipurpose stabilizing weight for weighting down temporary shelters is provided. The multipurpose weight may be made of concrete or composite material having an exterior shape defined by a plurality of sides adapted to provide stability when in contact with the ground. The multipurpose stabilizing weight include s a longitudinal passage and a concave channel sized and designed to mate with frame members of the temporary shelter.
