PURPOSE:To obtain a photo- and heat-sensitive recording medium capable of thermal recording with high sensitivity and having excellent storage stability by using a water-hardly soluble or insoluble diazoaryl sulfonate as diazonium salt together with a coupler. CONSTITUTION:In a photo- and heat-sensitive recording medium in which a diazonium salt and a coupler (e.g., 2-naphthol-3-naphthoic acid-piperidino-ethylamide, etc.), together with a basic substance as needed, are reacted by heating to form a recording picture and the diazonium salt is decomposed by irradiation of light, as the diazonium salt, a water hardly soluble or insoluble diazoaryl sulfonate (e.g., 6-pyrrodino-m-toluidine diazonium 2,3-dihydroxynaphthalene-6- sulfonate, etc.) is used. |
