PURPOSE:To enable a device to be constructed small in size, by a method wherein, first and second recording paper feed means and a path switch-over means which leads a recording paper to either a recording paper cycling means or a recording paper discharge means are equipped, and the first recording paper feed means is disposed at the obliquely downward to a recording means of one side thereof and the recording paper discharge means is disposed at the obliquely upward to the recording means of the other side. CONSTITUTION:At every completion of a recording in one color, a leading end of a recording paper is caught to be travelled to the side of an inlet of a thermal recording head 12, then being waited and held there. The recording paper except its leading end is allowed to be freely loosen. While, after the recording on the trailing end of the recording paper is completed, the action of holding the leading end of the recording paper is cancelled at a predetermined timing. Simultaneously, the recording paper is laid over an ink ribbon 91 and held by pressure between the thermal recording head 12 and a platen roller 11 so that a recording with a next color is conducted thereon. A first recording paper feed means 70 is disposed at the obliquely downward to a recording means 10 of one side thereof and a recording paper discharge means 120 is positioned at the obliquely upward to the recording means 10 of the other side. Therefore, the carry distance of the recording paper can be ensured with a small device case. |
