PURPOSE:To surely prevent a fluid from leaking through the coupled part of a pressure container, by providing protrusions on the inside of the container at its flanges which constitute the coupled part, so that the protrusions seal up the flanges by the pressure in the container. CONSTITUTION:Flanges 2 are provided along the total circumference of the butted ends of cylindrical members 1. Protrusions 9 are integrally provided on the insides of the flanges 2 along the total circumference. The surface 10 of the foot of each protrusion 9, which is continuous to the inside surface 8 of a pressure container, is made round to avoid excessive stress concentration. The contact faces 11 of the protrusions 9 are made flat and smooth to enable good tight contact. The cross section of each protrusion 9 is shaped nearly as a wedge to prevent it from suffering fatigue damage due to repeated pressure fluctuation. |
