PURPOSE:To obtain an ink jet recorder capable of preventing the clogging of nozzles with thickened ink by a method in which the liquid surface of ink inside the nozzle is always vibrated and the cross section of the ink chamber is enlarged toward the port of the nozzle. CONSTITUTION:A structure is provided by which a pressure pulse of such an extent that is insufficient to jet ink particles from a nozzle regardless of the ink particle injection signal for recording but sufficient to vibrate the liquid surface of ink inside the nozzle is applied to the ink chamber during the operation period of a recorder. Ink liquid surface signal permitting the application of pressure pulse of said extent is always or some times applied to piezo-electric elements. Also, the ink chamber 4 leading to the nozzle 2 is designed in such a way that it is not throttled toward the port of the nozzle and also the cross section of the section adjacent to the nozzle port is at least twice as much as the nozzle port 2.
