<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the mounting space and the number of wires, by connecting a resistance element mounted in a cassette with a comparator when the cassette is mounted into a copying machine thereby displaying the size of the mounted cassette in response to the output of the comparator. CONSTITUTION:When the paper sheet cassette 7 is inserted into a receptacle 2 of the copying machine body 1, electrodes 8 of the cassette 7 are forcibly brought in contact with electrodes 3 of the copying machine body 1, and the resistance gamma of the cassette 1 is electrically connected with the electrodes 3. Since the resistance gamma and a resistance R5 of the copying machine body 1 form a series circuit, the electric potential at a point A becomes equal to the partial voltage of the resistors gamma and R5. If the electric potentials at points A-D are, for example, D<A<C<B, since the output signal of a comparator 13 becomes a lower level, and the output signals of comparators 11, 12 become higher levels, an indicator 16 is lit, and indicators 14, 15, 16 are turned OFF. As a result, it is indicated that the cassette 7, for example, for a size A4 is mounted into the copying machine body 1.</p> |
