The turbocharger turbine has a turbine wheel rotating inside a housing, with an inlet opening for the gas directed tangentially to the wheel. There is a volute surface for guiding the flow of the gas around the periphery of the wheel. A valve controls the section of the gas inlet to regulate the gas flow speed. The valve has a sliding gate (10) in a guide groove (14) close to the wheel periphery. The gate can be moved in a curve generated from the wheel axis.
