The invention relates to a screw-in valve having a base body which has an external thread and in which a valve seat is provided in a flow passage and a closing element is provided in a chamber. A safety device is fixed at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the flow passage. An insertion opening for a rotating tool having a polygonal cross-section extends as far as the chamber. In known screw-in valves, the part of the flow passage through which the safety device is inserted, or in which the safety device is fixed, is constructed as a cylindrical hole. The safety device is fixed, for example, by peening over. However, as soon as this part of the flow passage is likewise to be constructed as an insertion opening for a rotating tool, not only the insertion but also the fixing of the safety device becomes problematic. The object is to create a screw-in valve in which a safety device can be inserted and fixed from the side of the insertion opening as well. This object is achieved according to the invention in that the safety device has a key-shaped cross-section and at least one edge projection, and its circumferential outline is matched to the polygonal cross-section of the insertion opening, and in that the safety device of the chamber, which is inserted through the insertion opening, can be fixed to the wall of the chamber by being at least partially pressed flat and with its edge projection spreading out.
