PURPOSE:To suppress a variation of output power, by setting a fitting angle of a parallelogrammatic prism by shifting it counterclockwise. CONSTITUTION:A titled optical switch has a structure by which the emitting direction can be switched to two directions 7, 9, by moving a parallelogrammatic prism 1 having a pair of the first parallel planes opposed to each other, and a pair of the second parallel planes opposed to each, making an angle of 45 deg. aginst this parallel plane, and converging incident light 8 from the first rod lens 4 to the second rod lens 5 which makes it incident to a vertical angle part of 45 deg. of its prism, or converging it to the third rod less 6 directly. In this case, when fitting the prism 1, sometimes the fitting angle is set by being shifted clockwise, light is reflected (for instance, three times) by the inside of the prism, is emitted in the direction of a code 11 and an optical loss is generated. (The normal direction is shown by a code 10) Accordingly, when the prism 1 is fitted by shifting it counterclockwise by an angle thetaO, a dead reflection is eliminated and an optical loss can be prevented. |
