发明名称 PERMANENT CONNECTING METHOD OF OPTICAL FIBER
摘要 PURPOSE:To eliminate the remaining of foam in junctures and to connect optical fibers with high reliability in the stage of connecting the fibers by the use of a precision sleeve by mounting tubular hot meltable resins onto the junctures and press fitting the same into the heated precision sleeve. CONSTITUTION:Tubular hot meltable resins 6 which have an outside diameter smaller than the diameter of a precision sleeve 1, and are opened with holes through which the junctures 2a of optical fibers 2 can be inserted are formed. Such resins 6 are mounted onto the junctures 2a and are forced together with the fibers 2 into the sleeve 1 which is beforehand heated. As a result, the resins 6 melt and are filled thoroughly in the spaces between the sleeve 1 and the fibers 2 as well as between the same and the junctures 2a. The sleeve and the fibers are adhered and fixed upon cooling and curing of the resins. The remaining of foam in the junctures is thus eliminated and the fibers are connected with high reliability.
