The pressureless hot water storage tank for a solar heating system is vertical, and made of plastics material, with all connections through the bottom. It is enclosed by a metal casing with a lining of insulating material between them, including a load supporting base plate also with an insulation layer. The plastics material used is selected so that contamination cannot take place, and the connections are welded into the bottom where the temp. is lowest. The outer casing forms a complete protection from ultra violet radiation. The inlet tubes are double tubes, with the inner tubes sealed around the tops of the outer tubes, so that air can circulate between them from below. A condensate tube with collector vessel underneath is also incorporated.
