PURPOSE:To form easily a liner layer of desired thickness on the surface of a base material by charging prescribed metallic powder in the clearance between the base material and a jig for covering and heating the same to melt then machining away the jig for covering after formation of a liner layer. CONSTITUTION:A core 2 as a jig for covering is inserted concentrically in a base material 1 of a cylindrical shape or the like to form an annular clearance 3. A ring member 7 is fitted into the opening 6 at one end of the clearance 3 to close the opening 6. Metallic powder 9 having a m.p. lower than the m.p. of the material 1, the core 2 and the member 7 is charged into the clearance 3 through the opening 8 at the other end thereof, and the entire part thereof is heated in a heating furnace to melt the powder 9. When a liner layer 9a is formed on solidifying of the melt, the core 2 is machined away from the layer 9a; at the same time, the inside circumferential surface 10 of the layer 9a is finished. |
