Novel blends of algin and tamarind kernel powder (TKP), in which the weight ratio of algin to TKP is in the range from 90:10 to 5:95, are useful in commercial gum applications where thickening, suspending, emulsifying, stabilizing, binding film-forming, and gel-forming properties are needed. They are particularly usefuly in the paper and textile industries for forming paper coatings and dye-bath liquours, rexpectively. |
