PURPOSE:To prepare a low calorific sweetening composition comparable to sucrose in thickness and meltability on the tongue, by mixing alpha-glycosyl stevioside with starch syrup made from reduced maltose. CONSTITUTION:1pt.wt. of alpha-glycosyl stevioside is mxed with about 20-400pts.wt. (solid basis) of starch syrup made from reduced maltose by conventional mixing method. A sweetening composition free from the bitter and unagreeable taste of alpha-glycosyl stevioside can be obtained by adjusting the alpha-glycosyl stevioside content to about <=1% of the whole composition when the mixed composition is liquid, or to about <=6wt% of the whole composition when the composition is solid. Pullulan is used as a binder for the fluidized granulation of the composition. |
