PURPOSE:To permit almost no influence of generation of distortion at carburization hardening to machining accuracy and generate a crowning effect, by integrally forming a flange to the central part of an external wall in the outer cylinder of a spline bearing. CONSTITUTION:A limitlessly sliding ball spline is constituted by a spline bearing B and spline shaft S supported by balls 3 built in the bearing B to perform linear motion in the axial direction and rotary motion of torque transmission respectively in a single or combined state, in which a flange 2 is integrally formed to the almost central part of an external wall in an outer cylinder 1 of the bearing B. That is, even if the flange 2 is formed to the external wall of the outer cylinder 1 before carburization hardening, generation of distortion due to the carburization hardening is not almost influenced to machining accuracy, on the contrary, the distortion due to the carburization causes a crowning effect, and turning work for forming the flange before carburization can be performed when the outer cylinder with the flange is manufactured. |
