PURPOSE:To produce a composite material wherein a core material is coated with a coating material continuously with a simple device at a high speed by passing the core material through the molten metal of the coating material, cooling the same through a cylindrical part of an inside diameter larger than the diameter of the core material and drawing the same through a die for drawing. CONSTITUTION:A holding tank holding molten aluminum 11 which is a covering material is provided on the inlet side of a die box, and a die 12 of an introducing part which is a cylindrical part having an inside diameter larger than the diameter of a steel wire 2 of the core material is provided in contact therewith and is constituted controllably of temp. by a heater 13, a heat insulating material 14, etc. A die 15 having a restricting part 20 is provided next to the part 12 and is held with a die holder 16 and is constituted coolably with a cooling part 17. A steel wire 12 is drawn into the molten aluminum 11 and is thus adhered with the molten aluminum. The steel wire is then passed in the die 12 under slow cooling and is put into the die 15 to squeeze away the excess aluminum and to compress the wire, whereafter the wire is drawn out as an aluminum coated steel wire 7. |
