PURPOSE:To detect the tail end of a steel piece of running sheet bars or the like by using a radiant ray and actuate a shearing machine by its detecting output. CONSTITUTION:The tail end of a running sheet bar is detected by a detector 12 applying infrared rays or the like to change turning on and off an output signal. A shearing length signal 14, a moving distance signal from a pulse generator 6, on-off signal from a detector 12 and a shearing edge position signal 16 are input to a shearing machine control circuit 8. At a point of time the tail end of the sheet bar is detected, a position of a running target shearing point S is obtained, at a point of time the point S reaches a prescribed position, a shearing machine 10 is operated. |
