A roller shoe mechanism includes a wear/play adjusting wedge device and comprises a coupling member 2 with a slanted working surface wedgeably co-operating with a complementarily slanted working surface of the roller shoe 1, the latter surface being located oppositely to the working surface of the shoe 1 that is adjacent to the roller track. The extent of wedging may be varied by a screw 4 capable of effecting displacement between the slanted surface of the coupling member and the slanted rear surface of the roller shoe.
