<p>PURPOSE:To enable the measurement of current in a wiring part by constituting a device by using an optical fiber and a photomagnetostrictive material. CONSTITUTION:When the tip of an optical fiber 1 covering a mgnetostrictive material 2 is positioned on the wiring 6 of an integrated circuit 8, the material 2 is strained by a magnetic field generated by a current on the wiring 6, and thereby a stress is given to the fiber 1. By this stress, a laser beam 5 in the fiber 1 is modulated when it is reflected on the end surface, and a propagation mode is changed. Thus, the beam is reflected by a half mirror 3 and falls on a photodetector 4. The photodetector 4 delivers an output corresponding to the change in the propagation mode, and a current can be read from this output.</p> |
