PURPOSE:To bend a pipe on site without damaging it, and to reduce cost, by providing elastic cushioning materials having specified hardness and thickness to the surfaces which are in contact with a coated steel pipe to be worked, in cold-bending the pipe by means of a bender. CONSTITUTION:Elastic cushioning materials A are respectively provided to a center former 14 of push bender and to the surface of an end former 15, which is in contact with a steel pipe 11 to be worked to hold it. The materials A have 80-100 rubber hardness (Shore A) and (t) >=3mm. thickness. Further, in bending work, the diameter D of a part which is in contact with the pipe 11 is made smaller than the diameter D of pipe 11 in a range of <=3mm. to hold the flatness of pipe 11 to the minimum. |
