An inverter with reduced overshoot when switching consists of D.C power source(11), a transformer for oscillation(14), a semi-conductor switch, an inducter(13) connected with D.C power source in series, a resonance condenser(26) forming a resonance circuit. The damping circuit for controlling the transient oscillation consisting of a condenser(31), a resister(32) and a diode is connected to the output of the D.C source or parallelized with the inducter.
