PURPOSE:To detect abnormality caused by temperature increase of a catalyst plug and keep the safety of the catalyst plug by installing a detecting circuit comprising a bimetal and a switch inside the catalyst plug. CONSTITUTION:Heat generated by the reaction of a catalyst 9 and mixed gas is transferred to a catalyst vessel 10, then released through the space and a container 3 of the catalyst plug. The temperature distribution is that the temperature in the vicinity of the catalyst vessel 10 which contains a catalyst 9 is highest, that near a center axis l of the catalyst vessel is next, and the temperature is the lower, the nearer it is to the container 3 of the catalyst plug. Therefore, if a bimetal is set so as to operate at the temperature in the vicinity of the bimetal, the temperature of the catalyst is detected before it reaches a dangerous value. 5 is a driving pipe covered with silicone rubber 4, and transmits extension and contraction of the bimetal 6 to a microswitch which is built in a box 7. |
