PURPOSE:To economically feed an one-time carbon ribbon by a simple structure in which the feeding of the ribbon is stopped during the printing movement of a carriage, the ribbon is sent out when the carriage is returned, and when the end of the ribbon is detected, the used ribbon is automatically recovered. CONSTITUTION:A carriage 1 moves to the right when a control motor 8 turns clockwise, and printing is made on a printing paper 18 through a ribbon 15 by a printing head 3. When the printing is ended, the carriage 1 moves to the left and returns. In this cae, a ribbon feed timing pulley 10 turns counterclockwise and couples with an one-way clutch 12. By this, the ribbon 15 is sent from the right side to the left side. The moving amounts of the carriage 1 and the ribbon 15 are equally set up. The used ribbon 15 is discharged to the outside and housed in a container 17. Thus, unused portion of the ribbon 15 can be eliminated, and when the end of the ribbon comes, a transparent portion 15' appears and is detected photoelectric detectors 20 and 21. Then, the used ribbon 15 is all housed in the container 17. |
